His match will remain a Day 2 pick, even though it will be played on Day 3. I realize that you do know this, but I want to reinforce this point to any of the other contestants who might not understand our procedures: When matches are delayed due to rain, etc., their picks stay with the day that the match was originally scheduled. This means that, even though Isner's match will not be played until Day 3, it is still a Day 2 pick, and will not appear on the Day 3 pick list.

If we had a "nodding head" emoji, there would be three of them here.

It looks like by the end of play on Tuesday, 25 people have survived to day 3 (those who picked Sandgren, Federer, Gasquet, and Hurkacz) and the rest of have to wait. Unfortunately the 10 Krajinovic pickers didn't make it.

I have been waiting until all of the Day 1 matches are finished before I start looking at the results of the Day 2 matches. One of the problems is that people whose Day 1 picks lose on Day 2 or Day 3 will change the numbers of Day 2 picks for each player. My plan is to update the Day 2 pick numbers after the last of the Day 1 matches are done, and add them to the bottom of the initial Day 2 pick summary post, and then start red/greening the Day 2 picks. This means that the Day 3 pick summary will end up with three different sets of numbers: the initial set, the after-the-end-of-Day-1-matches numbers, and the after-the-end-of-Day-2-matches numbers.
In addition, I am not going to be updating the list of individual picks until the last match for that day has been played.
Since we don't have a "frustrated" emoji, I'll have to go with this combination:

Nishikori is in deep problems, just like he likes it. He will make it in 5, after giving his pickers, at a minimum, cardiac arrhythmia.

I don't follow the men's game at all but I sometimes do better in the men's pools anyway - I think I often save 20+ women in the early rounds that I think could go deep depending on how the draw breaks and so end up making a dubious pick instead, whereas on the men's side I can get away with just picking a seed on track to play Djokovic in a round or two.

I picked Garin, but not with a lot of confidence. There just weren't any other picks that gave me much more confidence. For example, Rublev has a 2-5 record against his opponent. And it's hard to pick against Fucsovics after he beat Sinner.

Those six wins, in addition to the surprising ace count he racked up in the first two rounds, were enough to convince me he would win. But I wasn't feeling too good after he blew a 4-2 with a break point for 5-2 lead in the third set and then failed to finish it off with a 0-40 lead at 5-3 in the fourth set before finally serving it out.

I know that the normal procedure is to create an updated thread at the start of the second week. The fewer dead people you have, the easier it is to drag-and-drop a new days-worth of picks into the spreadsheet of all of the picks. However, if you create the updated spreadsheet too soon, you could end up with a lot of dead people to complicate the dragging-and-dropping in the updated spreadsheet. So, my plan is to wait until we have less than 50 people left before I start an updated spreadsheet.

Hello Kc.
I do not run the pool, but Dave will look into that. I can see that indeed your pick was Cilic.
One issue might have been that you have been continuously writing "My pick is " such and such. We have tried to make everybody simply write the last name and the first name of the pick, with nothing more. I do not know if this may have caused an error, but for future picks, just put down your pick in that fashion.
I will let Dave reply to you. He must be resting from the site after a tough week, with all the rain delays.
Hope you will join all of those that will beat the draw.

I should still be in the men's suicide contest, you show me picking Nishikori but I picked Cilic, you can check day 4 picks.
My day 5 was Garin and day 6 was Berretini, please verify and if possible add me back into the contest.
Thanks in advance for your help.

kcgregg: I have corrected that. Thanks for pointing that out. This is the third time that has happened this contest. I am beginning to suspect a quirk in Google Sheets.
Everyone Else: Feel free to double check your listed pick history. If you are dead because of an incorrect pick, send me a "private message" and I'll fix it. But do remember that I do have your pick history.

The record is lopsided? Check.
Last three sets played against the opponent have been dominant? Check
Plays the top seed in the next round, who will beat him handily? Check
What other indicators that Rublev was the pick of the day were needed?

by pudding Rublev really letting us all down today. Well, it was a good run. It's been years since I got to the second week of the suicide pool. Good luck to those remaining in the draw.

by karlovicfanclub Rublev won 8 points in the fourth set, which was as bad a set of tennis as I've seen from any Top Ten player.

by jazzyg Because I have had such a hard time getting past the first round in recent suicide pools, I picked Rublev on day 2.
That saved me today, at least for the moment. He would have been my pick for sure if he were available.
