I've always found it so funny about how desperately some players need to apologize (or to apologize) for net cords. I can't think of other examples in sports where someone gaining from a fluke/lucky bounce have to apologize for it. If I score a goal in ice hockey on a funny bounce for example, or if it hit the post but it still goes in, I'm not required to apologize for it.

The remnants from when it was a gentlemen's sport.
But other sports have their flukes too. Baseball is full of "unwritten rules". I find none more stupid that when a pitcher if throwing a No Hit/No run, you are not supposed to bunt he ball. Heck, I am trying to get on base, not make his life easy on him.
Football and baseball have rules about "stealing signs". Hey, they stole your signs? Your problem, buddy.
Soccer. You can only make two substitutions per game. Then, why do you have 22 players for?

I am sure there are more. But yes, apologizing for a let cord is passe by now.
