Re: ATP M1000 Toronto 8/7 - 8/13 2023
Yes, that sounds about right. But of course, there are limits. Even if the court is super slow, some players are faster than others; they will really get to more balls than the average. And Deminaur is one such player. He simply gets to everything because of his combination of speed and the court being slow.
It is like Nadal at RG; the court was always on his favor because it was slow and he was faster than average. Plus his FH could penetrate more. Ergo, 14 wins.

Nadal has the power to hit through even the slowest surface.. that is why he won so many FOs...

De Minaur and Sinner have their caps pulled so low that I can't see their personalities. This final is bad for tennis.
Also, they are still warming up and Sinner has already hit de Minaur in the face with a groundstroke.

The very first MS title for Sinner. Certainly not a surprise he won one of those this year. Also surely not the last of his career.
Rises to career high #6 in the rankings and #4 in the race.

And he handled his competition by very reasonable scores. He never looked threatened today.
I say that indeed, he will add to this MS1000 title.
