There's currently a rain delay in Cincy. No play before 2200/10p

What can you expect at the USO? 3R?
I thought Gilbert would have fixed her technical flaws by now..maybe he isn't a good technical coach- good only for tactics, strategy, mental aspects...
But this is the same FH she had last year, with which she won the Open.
It is not as if she has a new FH, or the rest of the tour are noticing NOW that she has a technical flaw. She is a well known quantity.
There's got to be something else.

Maybe loss of confidence - from too many people beating her up on it...

Yes. That was dumb. How to ruin an immaculate image in one bad moment.
It will mean nothing. Roger busted his racquet during that Novak match at Miami (IW?) a long time ago. But that was totally out of character.
About the match.
What happened? Was Carlos off? He was playing well last night.

From what I saw he just wasn't sharp enough, and kept giving Monfils openings to get back in the match. He had multiple break points in the 2nd & 3rd sets, and couldn't convert. I'm not surprised that he lost early this year in Cincinnati after the loss in the Olympic final.

My understanding of the issue is that it's a confidence thing. When she swings properly she hits the ball well, and consistently, and when she hesitates we see the errors.
