Unless Gauff takes it easy in next match since she’s already through. Although probably would want to avoid Sabalenka in semis

I didn't realize the WTA had gotten rid of the WTA Elite Trophy this year.

Gauff is going to lose to whomever she faces in the semifinals, and that's not a commentary on her.
Sabalenka and Zheng are far and away the the No. 1 and No. 2 players in the world on form right now.

Her scorelines have been uncharacteristically uninspired, so there could be a niggling injury.

Does it make any difference for Swiatek that she beat Kasatkina rather than Pegula? I suspect - not. Other match will decide who will proceed to semis.

It does not. Only matters who you beat if you are tied with them. Swiatek needs Krejcikova to lose since they are both +1 sets currently.
Krejcikova will win group if she wins in straight sets.

we need a board on the ATP finals in Turin - the groups have been announced - looks quite unbalanced.. the Newcombe group looks weak.

Coco "lets" Babs win - bounces Swiatek, but means she has to face Sabalenka in the semis
(I don't believe this but then again I didn't see the match)
