This was pretty shocking when I saw it this morning. Apparently she had just had a liver transplant.

Two-time Oscar winner Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy, and their dog were all found dead in their home on New Mexico. No foul play is suspected—he was 95.

A very fine actor, indeed. Strange, and sad, news.

Carbon Monoxide poisoning is suspicion #1 on the interwebs.

The report I read indicated they ruled that out fairly early on when fire and home inspectors told authorities it was safe to go into the home. And if it was carbon monoxide, how did 1 dog die and 2 live? So that's a little strange.

And whatever it was it happened a while ago (at least a day or two). Both bodies of the humans involved had already started decomposing.

Another report mentioned a spilled bottle of pills by the wife's body, but that could have been incidental.

It's a bizarre story for sure. And such a shame.

Meanwhile, I am a few days late, but I cannot neglect to mention songstress Roberta Flack passed a few days ago. She was 88, IIRC. Have to mention it.

One of the purest voices in the American.
Sure, killing me softly was incredible. I am still partial to Fell Like Making Love.

I totally agree with you ponchi - Feel Like Making Love is my favorite Roberta Flack song.

A very close #2 is her duet with Donny Hathaway, "Where Is The Love"

I've always loved "the closer I get to you" duet with Donny. I think jumped from a building in Manhattan.
