I would not criticize somebody for being unable to shake his/her father of his/her team. The psychological implications are not trivial. Who knows how demanding or even tyrannical his father is, and maybe Stefanos is not equipped to fire him as a coach because his father, precisely, never instilled that mentality.
And in some cultures, going against a parent is akin to treason.
And I agree with you as well That said, saying what he said, you don't just "put that out there" and things have since moved forward, apparently. I don't have access to Twitter/X but I'm reading he has a) split with his father as his coach because he b) wants to have him as his father and only in that role and c) apologized for things he said leading up to this.

The Rybakina story may explain why she has been so up and down latey..she will find a new coach and come back strong, may take some time but ...
What should a new coach focus on? Her game is well developed, and I find it hard to believe that her Achilles heel, her movement, can be improved.
Maybe it can be something as simple as making her feel happy and have fun on court. But for that you don't need a coach, you need some friends on tour.
I don't see who can be a good fit.

I don't know either..maybe just someone who does the basic things like finding her practice partners ..as you say, nothing in her game worth tinkering with, and movement is what it is....
Coco needs a more technical coach, to fix her forehand AND her serve..Gilbert seems to be more of a strategy and psychology kind of coach.
I said this earlier, now Coco seems to realise it...
Haven't observed closely enough to opine on what is wrong with Coco's serve..17 double faults, I hear! Usually dfs are a mental thing, may not be technical...but I don't know. Does anyone here know what the matter is?
I can't say that much. What is wrong needs a better eye than mine. And remember, Nadal did change his grip several times throughout his career.
Others can handle it. Draper serves with a similar grip, so did Raonic. In a fun way, that is MY grip. But I serve with a more sideways stance, and I have to concentrate on hitting out, or my serves find the net.
