He is famous down here for his scruffy looks. Makes him more "relatable". (Talking about the argie president)
Argentinian men are usually very poorly dressed and coiffed. My GF, for example, finds it odd (and likes it) that I do go to the barber with frequency. And that I do get my beard trimmed.

I guess they're fans of the Japanese manga "One Piece"

This is very well tailored and I like the playful motif of the suit jacket.

Nothing about this works. I guess he was aiming for cute and got sidetracked at sloppy.

President Biden was side eyed for wearing dress sneakers recently. If only he'd used color somewhere else because the sneakers are too casual for his perfectly tailored formal look.

Once again it's the king of Spain setting the example.

The thread is interesting.

I miss the time when men knew how to dress well. We just called it style.

Forget about the tailoring. These guys had swagger. ;)

It's very interesting to me that men will publicly ask Derek Guy to give them a critique while I don't think I've ever seen women do the same thing publicly. Exhibit A follows.

Due to link limitation this will be two posts.

Before I go on, I should note there's a lot of body shaming on Twitter. This thread is not meant to do that, but instead the opposite: show that anyone can dress stylishly if they know a few things.

Again, I don't know anything about their business, but they advertise themselves as bespoke. Perhaps they are. I would ask them: "How do you draft your patterns?" and "How many fittings are there?" $980 seems awfully low for quality bespoke.

The advantage of ready-to-wear is that you can put it back on the rack if you don't like it. All you need is to train your eye for what looks good. Will you have the same magnetism or talent as Ferry? Prob not, but you can dress as cool as him if you know a few things.

(There was no need to drag Gavin. Many men have the issues he does. So do many women.)

To compare him to someone known for being a super stylish style maker in a different suit all together is a bit strange.

I think Ferry's suit is linen too. What I think he's trying to do is say Gavin needs to make some adjustments to how his suit jacket(s) and pants are tailored so that the suit he chooses to buy suits his body type and will look great on him. From the pictures Ferry appears to be taller and his shoulders don't seem to slope but how does he look when he takes that jacket off? What is his real body type? I think that is what Derek is trying to say.

I'm still learning about men's fashion (I wish Derek would do a piece on ties because that is something I have never understood).

Also maybe compare Ferry with the King of Spain?

But Owen is right. Ferry was a style icon, and a rather dashing man. You need another person in the same category to even start the "fashion" comparison.
