You can say he never dresses down, which is true. But to describe his style as "aristocratic" or "noblesse oblige" is to demonstrate gaping ignorance about style and historical class you're referencing.
Brioni suit salesmen also never dress down. They are not "aristocratic."

The end of Derek's thread/commentary showing why MAGAts hate him. Tiny aspires to the aristocratic class. Unfortunately they see people like him coming and circle the wagons.

@dieworkwear
A central difference between me and the many people who will reply angrily to this thread is that I don't think suits are automatically "good" and casualwear is automatically "bad." A good casualwear outfit is better than a bad suit (and this happens often). I don't hold disdain for everyday people, so I don't use suits as a political cudgel.
Jeff Bezos and Donald Trump—two figures featured in that original thread—both dress badly to me. It matters none that one is a suit.
I mainly take umbrage with the idea that Trump's style can be in any way described as "aristocratic" or "noblesse oblige." These words refer to specific classes of people who had specific dress habits. Trump's attire has nothing to do with that practice.
You can say he never dresses down, which is true, but you can then just make that point without acting as though there's anything aristocratic about his dress. He's simply a businessman entertainer. Suit salesmen also never dress down, and if their dress habits were similar to Trump's, their style would also have no relationship to "aristocratic style."
"Twitter trads" often want to be patted on the back for simply liking suits (I doubt many of them wear them with much regularity), despite not appreciating the fine details or nuances of various styles. Yet, they also complain about the slipping of standards in schools—people are graded on a slipping curve, they say.
But is this not also just a slipping of standards? You want to label anything with revers and three pockets as "aristocratic?" Put on any old suit and suddenly you're King Charles. Give me a break.
Just make your point: Trump doesn't dress down (this is true). And you hate the modern world. You fancy yourself as being above other people, despite the fact that, the very signaling of this thing, shows you are irreparablely (sic) middle-class.
To state the obvious, you can like suits, tailoring, and Old Money style without LARPing in this way (I know many menswear enthusiasts who love Old Money style and are very forthright about their class status and hold no grudge against everyday citizens). If you must LARP, at least know what you're talking about.

I like Derek. I find him balanced.
And Tiny always looks like a sack of

. No matter if his suits are worth thousands.

I like Derek too and that was an interesting thread, but it was very long to say what we all already know - that Trump is a noveau riche wannabe.

As a side note, I've really enjoyed you posting the info on menswear here - I found the history so interesting.

I haven't posted a lot about women's fashion lately but in my opinion this is one of the best looks of the year. Law Roach, who styles Zendaya, hit it out of the park with this look. From hair to makeup to dress to shoes, it's all perfection.
To show how horribly wrong a lot of women's fashion has gone here's Rihanna and Anne Hathaway looking horrendous.
Rihanna has to realize that after having two children her body has change.
Meanwhile this is the scrum that Tom Holland had to rescue Zendaya from.

One of the best photo shoots of the season. It's a gallery so don't forget to scroll.

I find her boring but I'm definitely not her target audience so my PoV doesn't matter.

The woman in these photo's has personality and it comes through. This is what I mean when I say I find Carpenter boring. These photo's show a woman wearing clothes that suit her mood at a given time and place.
Michelle Yeoh's shoot is the same. She's someone you want to at least have a conversation with.
Carpenter is just someone standing around in clothes.

I think that's a bit unfair as Carpenter's whole persona is built on youth, fun and not caring, which I think comes through a bit, especially as most of the photos shown were not from styled, directed shoots. It just that hers isn't a persona that appeals to me, necessarily, but that's also because I'm not that young or fun.

Note: Matt Gaetz in a perfectly tailored suit would still be Matt Gaetz. I think the way he dresses tells you exactly who he is without him having to say or do anything.
