Ons recovered nicely from losing the first set.

She is not playing that well, but maybe can get some rhythm if she wins a couple of more matches. In the first set, she was overpowered by Shelby.
I still can't figure out Shelby. I know the movement is not superior, but it is also not bad. Yet, she is stuck there in the 30's.

ADF's passing shot in an endless-deuce game at 3-4 in the fourth might be the shot of the day, especially if he wins in four. A flick on the full stretch, almost in the splits.

Missed it. Been flipping between that one and Andy/Matteo, and missed that shot.

ADF wins 5 games in a row in the fourth set to win from 1-4 down. He took a long time to apologize to Galan at the net for a ball into the body that I guess hit Galan. Galan seemed to accept it... just disappointed in losing.

And something happened during the match that Galan/Foki had some words at the end. Rather tense but I was unable to hear what they were saying.

Our posts overlapped. I explained it in mine. Funny, I thought you're the Spanish-speaker, not me. :) Actually, the commentator translated.

They did show the ADF shot as part of their BEST 3 shots of the match. Really impressive, as he was still sliding to get to it.

Zhang Shuai is into R4, taking over Halep's draw. Zhang beat Marino, who beat Snigur, who beat Halep. Plays the winner of Keys/Gauff. Zhang started the year #63 and will be close to the Top 30. She won the doubles title last year with Stosur and has been bouncing around with a bunch of different partners this year.

I'm doing your bandwagons a favor, pushing them through with my karmic reverse psychology. Why are you even on these bandwagons, anyway? You're joining them like there's an open bar on board. :)

One modern mystery. How come China and, to a lesser degree, the Czech Republic, can produce all this very good female players, but the Chinese cannot produce a good male player?

Maybe they push men toward other sports with a bigger tradition in China.

Boy, not a lot of respect for Jiri Vesely... :P Maybe tennis isn't a big sport for the Czech men, either. And the population isn't huge - only 10 million, similar to Portugal, Greece and Sweden, none of which produce many top players these days, other than Tsitsipas (and that's Mouratoglou).
