That was right on. Four hours later, just into a fifth set.

I seem to have made a good choice for the first men's match to really watch this tournament.

Crazy that I'm already at work and the late USO match still ongoing... Will have to catch some extended highlights.

The match finished at 2:48am New York time.
5 hours, 15 minutes match time.
The quality of play in the 5th set was just as high - or higher - as it was in the 1st set.
One for the ages.

But you're only six hours ahead of NYC. I remember being at work and following the end of the Hewitt-Baghdatis match at the Australian 10-15 years ago. I was eight hours (less a day) ahead of Melbourne for that one. I think the sun was starting to come up as they were leaving the court.

Match of the year for sure. And I think men's tennis will be okay this decade without the bid three. Probably don't even need Zverev, Medvedev and Tsitsipas.

Let's not forget that the Aussie final also went 5, had a 0-2 sets comeback, also was very high quality and was historically more significant (Rafa breaking the tie with Roger and Nole).
And this is one match in which the UE count says nothing. Of course you were going to get a veery high UE count; after you have crushed the ball 24 times over the net for it just to come back, an UE is a very possible way that a point will end.
