Camilla played such a great match! I cannot believe she managed to pull that out in 2 sets. To say Jule is likely not having a good night is an understatement, she's got to be so disappointed to not have at least gotten it to 3 sets. She was the one that broke first each time (except for the last) if I remember right, only to have Camila get the break back. The way she fought was truly impressive. She may not ever have a pro career to match her junior career, but she really seems like she's going to be able to be on tour for a long while with her game. She's very easy to root for, great energy on court.

The trouble with playing Challengers is there are some pretty good players there too, and losing there would surely demotivate someone used to being a big star...not
Everyone needs match practice .I don't think Agassi or McEnroe ever did..

Timing is such an elusive thing. And it is one thing that can go away quickly.
When Mac went away (1985) and took his 6 months sabbatical, he never came back the same. His touch was a step below.
I am assuming you are resuming our conversation about Garbie. What do you think she should do?

About Cami. I also don't think she will be a top player. But she also never quits. She does not lose matches: she gets beaten (I hope that is clear).

I would guess Muguruza's problem has to do with motivation, maybe distractions, personal etc, which is mostly none of our business...
COS is a great defensive player, not likely to win a major but could win some tournaments on faster surfaces ,( which are few, and getting fewer!)

the court in Thailand looks significantly slower than Lyon.. from the videos, players are really struggling to finish points.. but what is it with the garish color of the courts! both are awful..

Nice week for Alycia Parks, into a main tour semifinal for the first time and taking out seeds Martic and Kovinic in the process.

MCOS win over Noskova was surprising to me because she had to come from behind in the first set, something she doesn't usually do well.

Bianca was up 6-0 5-1 on Kostyuk and had to win it in a tiebreak.

Another excellent win for Camilla! Even better than the last. She's had quite a week.

Haven't watched Zanevska play much in the past, but a great win over Potapova. If she can keep this form up, seems like she's on her way to a career high ranking this season.

I didn't realize that. Maybe something clicked for her this week and she's going about it a different way now. Because she was down to Jule last round multiple times and was able to fight back. It was the thing I came away from that match most impressed by.

There is a tournament in Colombia and MCOS not playing that?! It is a 125 series, but still...patriotism?!
