Holy cow! Now that's what I call a rain delay in Rio De Janeiro.

It's clay too - that'll take forecer to dry out - no?

Won't be finished until LATE tomorrow. Sure, clay will soak in the water, but then you have two issues. First, if it is NOT sunny, the court gets very mushy; ideal conditions for a rolled ankle. But, if it IS sunny, then you get an upper layer of mud that bakes and becomes a crust. That will change the feeling of the court completely, and it will make it very fast (a thin layer of dust on top, after it starts to break up) and even more slippery.
I am truly surprised that a pro tournament does not have covers for this.
