yep, my faith in Cornet is shaken for sure! she only beats #1 players, I guess, or reigning French Open champrions!

Alize is the opposite of many players, in that she really has not had a stellar career and yet, she is considered as very good player. 1 QF in her entire career, 5 4R, at Slams. But because she has played tough matches against #1 players (especially Serena), she has an aura.

Also let's not forget that Cornet (33) is at the very tail end of her career. That matters too.

She has won 6 titles and been No. 11 in the world. I think she has a decent resume, but yeah, her notoriety is a bit outsized based on her accomplishments, thanks to her personality, playing style, and those big upsets.

We also can't forget the breakdowns - she's mellowed a bit as she's aged, but she's had some legendary on court behaviour.
