I've gone with stat-based participation in SP's in 2023, having seen extremely little tennis on television (or elsewhere) so far this year and the moment seemed right to pick Keys as, according to the infinite wisdom of my own calculations, she wouldn't go much further after this round and I had a different route to my next medal in mind.

I had never heard of her, let alone seen her play. And apparently the WTA website has not heard enough of her to even be able to tell us how old she is.

Okay, just found her on the live rankings website. She's about a month older that Cocciaretto, so that seems like a pretty reasonable pick.
