by dave g This is where you mourn your losing picks.
This is also where the vast majority of us will end up. Not quite as inevitable as death, but almost.

by nelslus LOL. I mean- I KNEW Richie-Rich hadn't won a singles Slam match this year. But, he's just won some excellent matches. And, his opponent had recently been defaulting matches, and losing to the likes of Molleker (twice!!!!), Passaro, Weis, Shelbayh, etc., etc. AND, Gassy came back from two sets down this match. CERTAINLY, his experience would see him through now....

But, of course- no.

As solace, please serve me up a couple of formerly fresh and delicious :gorgeous: , but now stale, soggy, and tasteless hot cross buns. :|

We do have some ginger ale.

I must say- excellent and prompt service. Far better than any TAT Pool Loser could expect. :gorgeous:

by naughtyT "Note that both Cerundolo brothers are playing in this half of the draw. If you are going to pick on of them, remember to include their first initial!
** I have already found a pick for Cerundolo without a first initial. I am hearby proclaiming that any "Cerundolo" pick without a first initial is "Cerundolo F." and not "Cerundolo J.M." because "Cerundolo F." is a reasonable pick, while "Cerundolo J.M." is not a very reasonable pick."

OH REALLY??

I think we need to be honest with ourselves, nelslus... After all our years of playing these SP's, we should have known better than to pick a French player in the first (or any) round. Wasn't that a long-running joke some years ago, even? Same as getting BondarenKO'd? ;) Ah well, I'll have a Franklin & Sons cola while awaiting my fate on the women's side.

by PeterSkan Hi - I'll have a Musetti on the rocks, svp ...

by mmmm8 Who is that in the corner, with both their cheeks out on Day 1?

Oh, it's me.

At least I can still surprise the mighty TMQ!

by joanjettson @nelslus I feel ya! I have been lulled onto the rocks by the siren song of those hot crossed buns before too - same round and same court, no less.

Soon he'll be able to kiss all the girls at the club he wants without having to explain anything to the officials.

by texasniteowl well, I was snoozing, literally, but I see Potapova is out. oops for me. I'm still in on the men's side though. Still...I'll take a drink now. Margarita time?

by ashkor87  Thiem did me in, by actually winning a match! Not to be expected, I don't blame myself at all

Ok, I'll have two. -->
by ponchi101 Well, Beatriz did me in. I thought that Townsend would not be up to it.
Most likely will be here later on also for the men's side.
I'll have myself a caipirinha.

Ok, I'll have two.
I will join you. Nice win for Townsend - glad to see she is having some success, even if it is on our expense. And my men's pick is currently down 2 sets to zero, so, I'll have two also.

by ponchi101 There's 14 of us. So might as well start preparing them:
caipirinhas.jpg

by swaydrian+ I went out on day 2. Was kind of doubtful when I picked Garcia and Kokkinakis, but I figured surely they could win one, against players outside the top 100............ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

by joanjettson A caipirinha is how Brazilians never lose!

I figured surely...
Yep, that's pretty much our middle name when play this game ;)

by naughtyT Azarenka? jayzuz. Luckily I have wine

by ashkor87 Now Collins! Can't beat Mertens? Really?
What's a good Belgian drink? Chocolates, I know about...

by ponchi101 Remember that the Belgians are like French that are children of a lesser god. They do make fine wines, it is just that nobody knows them.
So, have your pick:

by Irena2 Late to the lounge, as I was double-cheeked in round 2, and better half motobass in round 1, but we'd been holding off from alcohol for awhile before Labor Day weekend. So, how about a pitcher of sangria for a beautiful summer night? Cheers to fellow loungers!

Holding alcohol OFF during an SP? What an odd choice, Irena2.
Yep, sangria sounds about right ;)

by joanjettson Isn't a Bonzi an actual drink? :)

by joanjettson Never mind, just make sure Gojo is my waiter and I'll drink whatever he's serving
