Tight third set in Cobolli vs Svajda match

Svadja hits deep lob, Cobolli goes back. Decides to hit a moonball himself. Proceeds to hit it long.

Announcer - "that is likely the worst shot you will see this year" - haha.

Are we talking about Delray Beach, or Buenos Aires? Delray Beach doesn't seem slow from what I've seen. Plenty of short rallies, and looking at 4 Americans in the semis generally means the court is playing quickly because we know American players don't have patience to construct points.

Alcaraz lost even here? He must be in a really poor form...

Jarry's not a terrible loss, but Alcaraz does have these losses from time to time that are a bit head scratching.

His last title is Wimbledon 2023. Really needs that Rio title next week now.

I watched the match. Jarry played at his very best. I guess, because if he had played any better, that would mean top 5 status soon. He crushed, at least, two FIRST SERVE returns that Carlos was not even able to move to.
And he had several others in which he crushed the return down the middle so hard that Carlos just was only able to flick the racquet at the ball, which then landed out.
One case of one player playing at his very best that day. I would not make much out of it.

Jarry's mediocre movement will not allow him to become top 10. But on slow surfaces he'll continue to thrive. Especially in the places like Kitzbuehel, Geneva, Madrid, Gstaad, where slow surface is combined with high altitude, which enhances his serve and makes his groundstrokes more penetrating.

I'm sure you're right about this particular match, but do you think all is right with Carlos game these days? He's not been as fierce as he used to I think.
