by ponchi101 It is so hard to root for Medvedev. The match is over. You lost. Smashing your racquet is obviously a "I can't believe I lost", which is insulting to your opponent.
I give up with him.

He's in a bit of slump right now - at least for a top 5 player - hasn't won a title since he won Rome last year, and hasn't made a final since Indian Wells.

by mick1303 I think Medvedev will soon lose his top-5 status. He is clearly in decline

I'm not sure if he'll lose the top 5 that soon - maybe by the end of the year - he's got a pretty good lead on 6th place Rublev, and it doesn't seem like anyone in the bottom part of the top 10 is really making a charge. It will be interesting to see if Medvedev can turn it around in the next few months because he does have Wimbledon semis, and US Open final to defend.

by Suliso Medvedev is #5 in the race too and likely will be a factor again once the tour returns to hard courts.

by nelslus In Halle, Eubanks CHOKED his match away. Chris was up 5-2 in the third against Zhang, served for it at 5-4....and, i believe, pretty much broke himself at love. Next service game, Chris gets to 40-30.....and makes 3 errors.

Gutted for Chris. He had such a great opportunity to make some more MUCH!!!! needed ranking points, as he is about to lose a huge amount of ranking points in the next few weeks. UGGGHHHHHH.

by ponchi101 I lost track of how many people have gone down this week. At different venues, which only have one thing in common.

by skatingfan There has been a lot of injuries this year so far on grass, and it seems it's to have been a wet spring in Northern Europe that might be affecting the playing surface, though I think the movement of the average player on grass is just not to the level we might have seen a few decades ago. Player's style is such that movement is so important to their ability to win points, and so they do whatever they can to get to every ball, but that's not necessarily the best strategy for grass.

by ashkor87 Am at Queens..stadium is bigger than than I expected...grass looks a bit worn out near the baseline...

by ashkor87 Musetti second serve is very attackable..

I give up with him.
Yes, "What a d*ck" flew out of my mouth.

by ashkor87 Musetti doesn't have a grass court game..serve is too slow, takes too long to hit his shots, mediocre volleyer

Compared to what I saw from Halle, the grass in London looks fine 😅

As for the size of stadium... For an 8.500+ seater it looks... Rather nicely sized?? How's the leg space?

by ashkor87 Leg space is not great...

by ashkor87 Poor quality match overall...

by Jeff from TX I am happy for Paul though.

by ashkor87 Paul was quite unimpressive too, though

Ah, that's a shame. I was asking both out of interest in your experience as well as with an eye on perhaps going to Queens either next year or the year after. I've found it very hard finding decent leg space for my 1.96 metre high, not supermodel-thin body   at other sporting venues. Roland Garros was an absolute nightmare in Court Philippe Chatrier; I didn't realize I'd be seated right in front of a knee-and-bit-high wall which left me wanting at least 30 centimetres of space when buying the ticket and had to leave the Li - Sharapova match because of it.

However... If you're taller than me...? ;)

No, I am much shorter! I was pretty cramped and then having to stand up to let latecomers go by...

by ashkor87 The doubles finals was very good, though..Fritz was impressive..great serve..made some crucial mistakes at the net..clearly inexperienced at doubles..Communication with Khachanov was poor, naturally, first time together I think...the doubles specialists won, as they should...both Venus and Skupski were awesome..Venus put away balls really well at the net, and Skupski's ability to change direction when moving at the net, was breath-taking...his movement on grass in general...
