was at Wimbledon yesterday..the whites and green grass certainly have a grace and class..the grass, at least on court 3, looks very short, though - looks more like a green carpet than a lawn..and on day 2, already a bit worn out near the baseline!

Did you stay on one court all day? The amount of seating on the outer courts looks very small, so I wonder if fans can court-hop or if they have to stay in one place all day. And if you leave for the restroom or to get a snack, can someone save your seat? Can you get back in or do you have to queue up again?

Well, I believed Ruud on TC yesterday when he said he's feeling better on grass. Took him in the SP and he's down 2 sets to Fognini.

Fognini is always a wildcard - never know which version will show up and what’s with the bleached hair?

Yes. The kind of pick that makes you wonder "why did I do that?"
It was a tough pick yesterday. We will go down together ;)

I know but he's 37, ranked 94, playing mostly Challengers, and it's B5. I figured he was coming to collect his R1 or R2 prize money. Ruud should not lose to him, even on grass.

I was also thinking Medvedev and Machac. So I would have been in trouble no matter what. Medvedev could still pull it out, but no guarantees.

Ruud should have won this match. He JUST SAID he was feeling better on grass ffs.

Well, Eubanks is back to ITFs, or the broadcasting booth. How fast they rise and fall. But you know, one Top 50 year is more than most players get.

Cindi Crawford could be wearing Naomi's outfit and it would still be awful.

yes, seats can be saved..we camped out at court 3 for a while then hopped..long lines though, everywhere..the buyback tickets to centre court etc can now be got more easily...they scan the QR on your W app and send you a message when your turn comes

I know but (Fognini's) 37, ranked 94, playing mostly Challengers, and it's B5. I figured he was coming to collect his R1 or R2 prize money. Ruud should not lose to him, even on grass.
I watched all of the first three sets because Fognini is just about my favorite player to watch of all time. He played a tremendous match all the way up until 5-2 and two breaks in the third and is simply better than Ruud on grass when he is focused. Clay used to be his only good surface, but like many 30-somethings, the long points have become too much of a grind for him on clay and grass accentuates his exquisite feel (maybe the best on the tour) and terrific transition game to get to the net and knock off volleys when he sees he is in an advantageous situation.

But then, after never being broken, he pulled a Fognini and choked like a dog after missing a match point while serving at 5-2. He got broken for the first time, was broken again at 5-4 and could not hit a ball on his strings while losing the tiebreak 7-1. At that point, I don't know what happened because I stopped watching, sick to my stomach. I checked the score occasionally and saw that he was holding serve easily in the fourth set, and when he broke for 5-3, I started watching again, only to see him gag four more match points with double faults and Ponch's favorite, a swing volley from inside the service line (a shot he never attempted in the first three sets), butchering it badly. He finally held his nerve and his serve after facing a break point, finishing it off with an easy forehand winner.

When the ball was in play, Fognini was the better, more creative player from start to finish. He is in to his seventh third round at Wimbledon (Ruud has zero) and if his body holds up (a major question mark), he will have a real shot to beat Bautista Agut or Sonego to get to his first-ever fourth round at Wimbledon.

That is the reason I picked AGAINST Fognini. He is very high on my list of all time underachievers. His strokes were good enough to be a slam champ.
So, he decides to do that today.

I had never seen Navarro play. That is one lovely FH. The BH is not bad either.
