I was watching it, and indeed, she did not. But that only makes it worse. You get injured by slipping, by not slipping, by stopping hard (that was what happened to Keys). And it is not Wimbledon. It was the entire grass court season.

We can't conclude that Keys's injury was surface-related. People get injured on other surfaces, too. And most people don't get injured on grass. I doubt 50% of players are finishing the grass-court season with an injury they picked up.

Your threshold to call a surface dangerous is 50%? That is high.
I would need to start looking at how many players retired from a match this season due to an injury, but I remember that they were plenty.
And, if you have a leg injury, the chances that the surface was related are not trivial.

I didn't see it, but I take it Keys did something to her knee or leg? It must have felt serious for her to retire at 5-5 in the 3rd. Ouch.

Selfishly, boo. This was the best I had done in a SP so far this year.
