First ever GS SF (3rd QF) for Donna Vekic. Finally a lucky break in the draw. Final is not impossible either.

Not watching, only checking live scores. What's up with Sinner in the 5th set?

And now Meddy scores his win #7 over the player #1. And this is 3rd different #1 player over whom he has a win ))

In that department he one-upped the all-time leader in wins against #1s. This is of course Rafael Nadal with his 23 wins. But there is not a lot of variety in Rafa's oppponents. He has only two #1s on his roster of victims. "Only two" ))))

He appeared to have a minor injury on the back of one of his thighs. He did take a medical time out, during the third set, I think, I have no clue about the extent of the injury.

The leader in variety is Boris Becker. He has 18 wins over 6 different #1s

I certainly did not think Medvedev would beat Sinner, but he had played an outstanding match against Struff, barely missing a ball and hitting clean winners over and over, surprising me with his level of play.

This is by far the best he has been on grass. I would not rule out a Sinner, Alcaraz. Djokovic triple for him if that is whom he faces.

Sinner's medical timeout was for dizziness. The thigh started affecting him visibly after he went down a break in the 5th.

Given how formidably Sinner was looking, I thought that out of last year surprising semifinalists Meddy and Svitolina, the former had less chances to replicate it this year.

So much for not seeing anybody beating Sinner. I am surprised because it had been a while since Medvedev had beaten him, but the ATP resembles the WTA (a little bit) when it comes to the parity AT THE TOP.

Based on Medvedev's play the last few months I didn't think he would make the semis, or even the quarters this year - what might have been for Dimitrov - but he played a really good match against Sinner - he was often the more aggressive, and opportunistic player.

So much for Navarro. A terrible match from her side.
Paolini has to be favored to win against Vekic. And, sincerely, with her foot speed, I can't see Elena or anybody on the other side having an easy time against her.

If Keys had been able to finish that match...

Ashkor was 100-percent right about Paolini, and I'll go a step farther. She is going to win this tournament.

No one left in the draw has a chance against her except for Rybakina, whose serve will be difficult to deal with for a 5-3 player. But even Rybakina will have to serve tremendously well to hang with her. Rybakina is too slow to track down Paolini's unerring shots.

This reminds of the year Bartoli won Wimbledon and everyone picked against her each round even though she clearly was playing at a higher level than her opponents.

I just asked Ashkor why he didn't give her even a 2% chance of winning. She was clearly in the 5% he gave the field.
And I can't find the post where he predicted this excellent run.
I agree with you. She has a great chance of winning it. She escaped Keys, and now I just don't see Vekic beating her.
