Because the people that believe in these sort of things never check the data.
My loonie friend that used ivermectin to "cure" his kids sent me a link for Robert Kennedy Jr's book on Fauci. I simply asked "why do you believe Kennedy, a non expert on the field, but you do not believe Fauci?".
Well, turns out Fauci is a liar, a liar, a liar. Kennedy is a real scientist.
It is difficult to fight that mentality.

To be fair, the year with Carsen Edwards showing out, they should've made it to the Final Four but there was some highly favorable, downright suspicious ref calls for Virginia in that game that led them to not get there. I think that's the only outlier though.

Makes me feel so much better about our Survivor Pool's lack of success... ;)

I don't ... we only had to pick 1 match a day, not 16 like these people did.

That said, are Survivor Pool's a thing for the tournament? Might be another interesting game to try.

And you had to come and spoil it!
I have no idea how brackets are played. Never have done it. But after my Aussie Open defeat at the hands of Linette, anything will do, as long as I feel not so bad ;)

The usual bracket is just like any bracket pick em - you pick all the games before they start, right through to final. It's maybe the most fun pick em to do with people who don't follow sports at all. Right now in my family bracket of 14, only three people still have their whole final four - two of my daughters, and my niece. None of the grownups have a full final 4 :)

But I'm thinking it could probably work just as easily as a Survivor Pool, pick one team a day, can't reuse em. Maybe next year if I think of it we can try it here (or maybe it already exists?)
