Arango will get a maximum of 20 points today. She is as thin as a reed.

the good matches today are Bublik - Cilic and Noskova - Galfi (Galfi is a junior champion, and Noskova is Noskova).. will Tsitsipas survive? Unlikely..

I don't mean to continually bang on Mpetshi Perricard (oh wait, yes, actually that's exactly what I mean to do), but he has won eight points on Musetti's serve through 13 service games plus a tiebreak. To his credit, two of those points came in the first-set tiebreak he won, but his ineptitude on return remains historic, and as Ponch pointed out, he's capable of hitting big groundies. He just rarely does it during an opponent's service games.

Edit: it's now nine points won in 16 service games plus a tiebreak.

Edit 2: The match is over and M-P won only 13 of 100 return points. He finally won two points on Musetti's serve in the final game (and the only time in the match) when he went up 0-30 as Musetti got tight for a moment.

I watched him win the Lyon title last year. He looked good off the ground. I wonder if he is managing his energy in these B5 matches and not putting a ton into return games.

Right now, he is the ultimate Bot.

19 seed Francisco Cerundolo is the first player of this year's USO to come back from two sets down to win it.

3-6, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4, 6-3 to be exact.

I heard yesterday that he was the first person to ever win a 5 set match this year without having a single break point on his opponent's serve.

Only Cirstea (Cleveland) avoided the traditional let-down of the three players who won tournaments the week before a slam.

Fucsovics (Winston Salem) won eight games in three sets against the previously struggling Shapovalov.

Shnaider had a tough draw against Siegemund and reverted to her summer form after the one-week blip in Monterrey.

Tomljanovic served for the second set, lost a long rally and instead of being in a third set the set is level at 5 all.

Gauff just lost the second set TB to Tomljanovic 6-7(2).

There were some outrageously good points near the end of the second set of Gauff-Tomljanovic.

Tomljanovic kept that high level in the tiebreak while Gauff fell precipitously.

Coco not impressive today.. Forehand as bad as ever, poor footwork, standing too far back to return, could have pressured the serve more.

And just like that it's 5 all in the third set. It's not just her mechanics Cori's not thinking well right now.

That was sheer will on Cori's part to keep herself upright and not fall. She wins the match 6-4, 6-7(2), 7-5.
