Welcome to AMITS (A Month in the Sun) TAT Fantasy Contest!
Get ready for the fantasy tennis season to begin.

Below you will find all of the information you need to assemble, post, manage, and moan about/cheer for your team.

Picking Your Team
To enter the AMitS TAT Fantasy Contest, you need to assemble a unique team consisting of TWELVE players. Of those twelve players, six must be from the ATP and six must be from the WTA. Any team with too many men or women will not be included in the competition.
To view the players and categories, go to the Player Categories thread

You must choose a specific number of players from each of the categories available to you. From category A you must pick FOUR players, from category B you must pick THREE playes, from categories C and D you must pick TWO players. From the last category E, you pick ONE player. You may substitute any player not in the top 100 (in the categories posts) as a wildcard instead of your category E player, but please be carefull to spell their name correctly.

It is up to YOU to decide how you spread your WTA and ATP player picks. If you want to pick four WTA players for your category A picks, that's your choice. It would leave you with just the two WTA picks for the remaining four categories.

Example:
Cat-A: Djokovic, Medvedev, Halep, Osaka
Cat-B: Dimitrov, Swiatek, Brady
Cat-C: Sinner, Strycova
Cat-D: Van Uytvanck, Pospisil
Cat-E: Anderson

As you can see, the team consists of six ATP players and six WTA players. As long as you make sure it's 50/50 ATP/WTA, it's fine by us. Part of the challenge for you, as always, is finding the right balance.

Also note that we have several pairs of players with the same last name (the William sisters, the Pliskova sisters, and two Wangs). In those cases, please include the first initial (first two letters in the case of the Pliskovas) . Thankfully, none of the pairs are in the same category, so we should be able to figure out which one you mean, but adding the first initial will reduce any chance of confusion.

Important: Your initial team cannot duplicate another participant's team. It will be your responsibility to ensure that your team does not duplicate another participant's team. If there are two duplicate entries, the earliest entry will be accepted, while the duplicate entry will be rejected.

Tournament Points
Prior to posting your team, you may want to check to see who is playing where and examine the different point values for various events. The AMITS 2020: Tournaments and Points thread.

Making Trades
You get FOUR trades. Any trade needs to be made before the first tournament of the next week starts, otherwise the traded player will not earn points until the tournament after that. This is important because main draw play for some tournaments will begin on Sundays. There will be a trades thread once the competition has started.

Warning on trades: if your trades result in an illegal team, such as violating the 50/50 ATP/WTA rule or not having the correct number of players in each category, you trades will be cancelled and the trades will count against you total number of allowable trades. For instance, if at the end of the first week you make two trades that create an illegal team, you will enter the second week with your original team and only two remaining trades.

If you have any questions, reply to this thread. I will be posting the deadlines here also.

Now what?
Grab a pen and a piece of paper (or just open a new tab and prepare to reply) and select your team! All categories can be found in the Players Categories thead. Just remember: FOUR category A picks, THREE category B picks, TWO category C and
TWO category D picks and ONE pick from category E. Six men, six women.
Then, feel free to stay in touch with the other participants in the Yarra River Lounge.

Sorry about that. I wrote this post before I went off for Christmas under the assumption that I would have had time/energy to finish the posts yesterday. But I have been running slow. The rest of the posts will be up shortly.

AMitS: Tournaments and Points

Here are the points your players will earn you.
Week 1: 01/04/2026 - 01/11/2026
ATP: Brisbane and Hong Kong
WTA: Auckland and Brisbane

Week 2: 01/12/2026 - 01/17/2026
ATP: Auckland and Adelaide
WTA: Hobart and Adelaide

Weeks 3 and 4: 01/18/2026 - 02/01/2026
Australian Open

* A couple of notes on timing of tournaments: 1) on Week 1, Hong Kong starts first on 01/05/2026, 2) the Australian Open website says that the first round of play starts on Saturday, 1/18.

Weeks 1 and 2 except WTA Brisbane
R-1: 5
R-2: 50
Quarters: 125
Semis: 225
RU: 350
Winner: 500

WTA Brisbane
R-1: 2
R-2 5
R-3: 50
Quarters: 125
Semis: 225
RU: 350
Winner: 500

Australian Open
R-1: 10
R-2: 45
R-3: 90
R-4: 180
Quarters: 360
Semis: 720
RU: 1400
Winner: 2000

* Since the WTA site does not give tournament draw sizes, I am only guessing that the WTA Brisane tournament has a larger draw than the other one week trounaments.

The tournament with the earliest time zone appears to be Auckland, which happens to be UTM+13. Therefore, assuming a 10:00 a.m. local time start,
the projected team submission deadline is 9:00 p.m. London time Saturday, 4:00 p.m. US eastern time Saturday, and 1:00 p.m. US Pacific time Saturday.

Tenedab is correct, so .........

Main draw match play for Brisbane, Australia begins at 11:00 AM local time, Sunday, January 4th, so the official deadline to post your teams would be today, Saturday, January 3rd, at 8:00 PM US eastern time.
