watched a couple of matches - court looks medium to fast - Yastremska was struggling with the pace.. this is, of course, what the AO is expected to be. Players who will thrive in these conditions - Paolini, DeMinaur, Paul, Pegula, Coco, Mboko, Andreeva. Those who will not - Anisimova, Pavlyuchenkova, even Rybakina when her serve gets returned..

Shocking defeats - Kostyuk and Alexandrova, also Yastremska... will have to watch carefully to understand what happened..

I did watch the Yastremska match, she seemed unable to cope with the speed of the court. Kostyuk seems to have rolled her ankle during the match.. Alexandrova, I dont know.. I hear the crowd got into the act, maybe she doesnt know how to handle such things

Why would Yastremska's loss be shocking? Ruse is ranked 77, and a veteran. Just one of those days.
