Actually Roger does have Olympic gold. Sure, it's in doubles but Olympic gold nonetheless. That's why top singles players take Olympic doubles more seriously than they would in a Slam.

And an all-Russian final in the Mixed :)

(Who has Elena Vesnina and Aslan Karatsev beat Novak Djokovic for an Olympic medal in their January 2020 season predictions? 😀)

Who y'all picking for the women's and men's singles final? I'm going to say Vondrousova and Kachanov for the gold, and Rybakina and Nole, though I think there is a strong chance that CB might win.

I say the opposite. Belinda and Zverev. He played a gorgeous third set against Novak.

I actually just picked who i wanted to win because I have a horrible record of predicting matches, so why pretend otherwise. :) Also, I didn't see Zverev, but I did see Khachanov's match and I was super impressed.

Zverev played really well from about the midway point of the 2nd set to the end. But he was helped greatly by Djokovic, who very simply - and very uncharacteristically - vanished.
There was a moment in the 2nd set in the game when Zverev got broken. He thought that the ball was long and was mad with himself that he didn't stop the play. So he continued to harp on this and muttered wandering around the baseline. At this point Djokovic said something. I did not decipher what exactly did he say, but it was a mistake to open his mouth then. Because it transformed Zverev to a beast, who could hardly miss. It was a decimation that reminded of Safin's 2000 USO final against Sampras.

I was talking to a friend of mine on Thursday (also a tennis player) that has too been watching a lot of the Olympics.

Neither one of us had found a single tennis point.

I am visiting my mom today and find the women's final. Sweet. Took me a minute to realise it's on the Olympic Channel. That explains why I haven't seen any if it's been on that all along.

Djokovic and Stojanovic withdrew from the Mixed Bronze medal match after Djokovic lost the singles bronze. Official reason is Djokovic shoulder injury.

Not a good look and really sucks for Stojanovic's probably only shot at the history books.

Laura Pigossi of Brazil and Luisa Stefani of Brazil won the women's Bronze. I've never even heard of Luisa Stefani!

Djokovic's W/O means Ashleigh Barty (and John Peers) get a medal, btw.

Could have seen men's vs women's No. 1 competing!
