I once picked COS in a SP a couple years ago just because I loved her name ..she rewarded my admiration by getting me knocked out of SP in the first round..

COS has become much more than a steady returning machine..her forehand has real bite these days..happy to see a young player come back from injuries etc a better player

This is one tournament where being a local helps.
The crowd simply goes insane when Cami is playing. You have no idea of how partialized the TV commentating is. And, playing at 2,600 MOSL really affects your strokes. No amount of topspin will bring the ball down, and you really have to play with super flat strokes.
It works for me (I play just a few miles from the tournament's venue) because I never was able to put a lot of topspin on the ball, but for clay courters coming from sea level, this place is a nightmare.
