At least the singles tournaments will finish because it's all on Centre Court, and Court #1, but the doubles, and juniors will have some interesting scheduling the next few days.

Most of the points are ending in an UFE hit long, but the number of strokes per point and the heavy hitting between Pegula and Vondrousova has been very entertaining.

Maybe Svitolina has come back at "tier 1" level? Also grass is for sure Iga's weakest surface. She's just not very comfortable on it despite the junior title.

Svitolina is such a tough out. She gets so much back and is a rock mentally, I think. She won't give Swiatek anything and I think that can put a lot of pressure on Swiatek. But usually Svitolina's second serve was a liability. In the second week, an in-form player would destroy it. I wonder if Swiatek isn't taking advantage of it or if Svitolina is making a high percentage of first serves. I'm not watching the match.

Even at at her best, her second serve would usually be crushed and kept her from reaching Slam finals. I don't know if she has improved it or is making a high percentage of first serves or what. Swiatek is only winning 17% of her second serve points and Svitolina is winning 55% of hers. Both are serving above 70% first serves.

Swiatek went up a break in the 2nd and then "immediately" gave it back

Similarly Pegula was up a break in the 3rd and then the same happened

We have been talking about how there have been no major upsets in this tournament.
How big would Svitolina over Iga be?
(I know, I am jumping ahead, but this is not looking good for Iga).

Big, but not huge. Svitolina might be ranked low right now, but her career high is #3 and she has been to GS SF's 2x.

Consistency, defense, and maybe made a high percentage of first serves and/or those players didn't play their best in those matches. I don't know who they were or in what stages of tournaments those matches happened, but Svitolina had trouble getting past the quarters in Slams because of her serve.

This result so far isn't surprising me, given Swiatek's inexperience on grass and Svitolina's general experience and consistency.
