Krejcikova really had to struggle to defeat the Japanese wild card in 2:26. A lot of kvetching and back-and-forth with her coach.

In other words a typical Krejcikova match.

Re: Alycia's "win" today.....SO, at 4-4 in the third, one of the multiple deuces....of all things, Snigur appeared to be crying. I mean, sure, after John and I had been forever watching Alycia alternating break point aces with random double faults, errors into the bottom of the net, shrieking winners, and genuflecting to the Almighty, we wanted to cry, too. Nevertheless.....once Alycia crawled through that game, Snigur finished herself off. Serving with such a lack of pace that would have made Frankie Durr blush (google/wiki her), even Alycia was forced into smacking return winners, thus ending this atrocity. WHAT a treat!!!!!

I only saw the end when Alycia was "smacking return winners" and wondered if she had played like that the entire match.
