2024 US OPEN YCWJ || Scores

Think it's easier to pick losers than winners? We'll see about that.

2024 US OPEN YCWJ || Scores

But not lounge! If you want to express your sorrow because all the players you picked learnt to play over the weekend, go to the Losers and Winners Lounge. You can get drunk there!

Ok, back to scores.
We have uploaded the YCWJ sheet to the usual link:
contests/YCWJ.htm

Please, like always, check your picks and let me know if I copied them all well. If any mistakes, let me know here.
This time, I started everybody at zero, as opposed to at 20. So, all your players start as winners. When they lose, we will update.
We have one player that chose to only pick for the ATP. So, such a player is giving the rest of us a lot of handicap. Welcome aboard, for the Aussie remember to pick for both tours.

Bad luck to every one!

Hello gang.
R1 has been completed, and we have two obvious leaders. Khotem1 scored a perfect 20, and Ironmike scored a very high 18.

As you are aware, the first round is the harder to score. The mistakes usually start here. So, please check your picks (maybe I wrote down a wrong one) and let me know if you see any errors.

Your picks are here:

With the end of R2, we have a new leader in the contest and a very crowded top 7. Khotem1 was unable to keep that scorching pace, and dropped 5 players in R2. The new leader if Shmrck14. who is in a good position with 5 players left.

My 4 point women's entry lost, and my 2 pointer is on court now... I might quickly be out of contention.

Updated after R3.
Shmrck14 opened a bit of a gap, but he is one of two players with 4 picks left. He looks to be in a good position.

I think I forgot to update after 4R. Sorry.
With the QF's finished, here is where we stand:
YCWJ.jpg
Shmrck14 was unable to keep up, losing all her picks in R4. The top leaders are now JeffFrTx and Federex, Both have 1 pick left, and the winner will probably be decided by the bonus points. Ironmike also has one pick left.

This is where we stand:
YCWJ.jpg
JeffFrTx is on the lead, but has run out of picks.
Federex is two points behind, and has one pick left. This is Sinner. But, if Sinner loses, Federex collects 2 points from that loss, plus 10 bonus points (it is his ATP choice #3). However, he cannot win because:
Motobass also has Sinner. But it is his #2 choice, so he would collect 3 points plus 15 points for the bonus, which is 18 and he would leapfrog everybody.
And:
Ironmike is 4 points behind, and has one more pick. This is Sabalenka, but she is his #4 pick. He would catch up Jeff because Sabalenka would give him 6 points (1 for the round, 5 for the bonus).

So.
If Sinner and Sabalenka win, Jeff takes the spoon.
If Sinner losses, Motobass takes the spoon.
If Sinner wins, and Sabalenka loses, Jeff and Ironmike will share spoons.

(Let me know if you spot some flaws in these scenarios).
