Awesome win by Muchova over Sabalenka! She is finally able to play a full 3 set match at a high level in her return after injury...

Sabalenka seemed to lose intensity and focus in the crucial last game of the third set.. seemed mentally tired, unwilling to fight on.. 4 errors one after the other..

But that is her style. She creams everything as hard as she can. And, well, there will be games in which they will not land in.
I only saw the highlights (of course), but there was something I found odd. Both of them hit several FH's with that odd slapping motion, hitting it with slice and sidespin. It is not a good shot, as it is defensive, but it seems they were not positioned well.

Anyway. If Muchova can stay healthy, she remains a threat to win any match she plays in. Even on clay vs Iga.

I couldn't stay awake for the Sabalenka vs Muchova match and woke up in time to see Qinwen serving Mirra Andreeva a bagel in the second set of that match. At one point Andreeva was reduced to tears but she fought hard in the third set. Qinwen was just not going to lose to her.

Three seeds and Muchova. That has ended up being a good tournament to watch.

Coco vs Badosa and QZ vs Muchova...intriguing matchups...all good matches. Badosa has the power to hit through the court but Coco is simply a higher-class player, should win..the other one, I don't know..would love to see Muchova win but beating Qinwen in front of a Chinese crowd?! Very hard!! Qinwen is also due for a title or two.. great run at the AO and also Olympics of course...she likes slower courts too.

Badosa was up a set & a break, but let Gauff back in the match, and Gauff won in 3.

Watching the highlights video ..it is evident Badosa isn't a great mover...unlike Coco ..
Coco hasn't totally gotten over her tendency to spoon the ball short on the forehand when she lets the ball get too close to her body..still does it a lot

While Muchova has some great performances at majors, she has won only one tournament in her life, Korea in 2019!
