A 17 year old opened fire in a Nashville high school today. Hours before police shared his name, fringe extremist communities correctly identified him as one of their own. He left behind a manifesto expressing unadulterated neo-Nazi ideology that endorsed violent “accelerationst” tactics.

The suspect also appears to have been part of online communities that glorify and encourage mass shootings. He wrote he was radicalized against his own race to the point of suicide and wanting to kill others. Also an apparent fan of Nick Fuentes and spent time in online cesspits like 4chan, etc.

A few things that stand out about this:
-he claimed he was in contact with other mass shooters
-he said someone helped him write the manifesto
-he apparently tried and (mostly) failed to livestream the attack

ICE are Currently Raiding Homeless Shelters in NYC
Politics
I work in a nonprofit that runs a non-zero number of homeless shelters in New York City. ICE has been hitting shelters in town. My org is disclosing this in an all-hands meeting. We are being trained to not disclose identities, but to assist in the serving of arrest warrants by unlocking doors. If the clients are not in their apartments then we are to escort ICE out.

It is happening here. Right now. We believe raids are being timed in mornings and evenings in order to increase the odds that they find their targets, and catch them when they are unaware or groggy.

Edit: We are only required to open specific doors listed on warrants. If ICE has a warrant for one room we are only required to show them to that one room.
Meanwhile NYC's Mayor is talking about how his heart goes out to Diddy...

Mexico refuses to accept a U.S. deportation flight
The Mexican government has criticized President Donald Trump's unilateral immigration actions, and the landing would have required Mexico's assistance.

Jan. 24, 2025, 5:01 PM EST
By Courtney Kube and Jonathan Allen

WASHINGTON — Mexico denied a U.S. military plane access to land Thursday, at least temporarily frustrating the Trump administration's plans to deport immigrants to the country, according to two U.S. defense officials and a third person familiar with the situation.

Two Guatemala-bound Air Force C-17s, carrying about 80 people apiece, flew deportees out of the U.S. Thursday night, the sources said. The third flight, slotted for Mexico, never took off.

A White House spokesperson did not reply to a text message seeking comment on Mexico's stance.

It was not immediately clear why Mexico blocked the flight, but tensions between the U.S. and Mexico, neighbors and longtime allies, have risen since President Donald Trump won the November election. Trump has threatened to slap 25% across-the-board tariffs on Mexico in retaliation for migrants crossing the border the countries share. But he has not yet put them in effect.

The Mexican Embassy did not immediately return a request for comment.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum's government has said it opposes Trump taking "unilateral" action to implement restrictive immigration standards — including the reinstatement of a "remain in Mexico" policy that forces migrants to stay in that country while they await adjudication of asylum claims. Flying deportees into a foreign country requires the cooperation of that nation's government, and Mexico declined to give its consent.

The military deportation flights are part of a broader Trump administration crackdown on illegal immigration that has been set in motion with executive orders signed in his first week in office. During his campaign, he vowed to stop illegal immigration into the U.S. and pursue a campaign of mass deportation of undocumented immigrants already living in the country.

In addition to the flights, he has enlisted the military to beef up its presence on the border with an additional 1,500 troo

The Mexican president is on the record saying they will only accept Mexican citizens. And that the US needs to transport everyone to their appropriate nations

Trump gives Ice power to deport immigrants who came legally under Biden
Ice given unprecedented authority to expedite deportations as US cities face raids and troops arrive at US-Mexico border

Joseph Gedeon in Washington and agency
Fri 24 Jan 2025 18.35 GMT

The Trump administration is issuing a new round of heavy-handed measures that could rapidly deport immigrants who entered the United States through recently established legal pathways, according to an internal Department of Homeland Security memo obtained the New York Times.

The directive, signed by the acting homeland security secretary, Benjamine Huffman, grants Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) officials unprecedented authority to expedite deportations for immigrants who entered the country with government authorization through two key Biden-era programs.

These programs, which have allowed more than a million immigrants to enter the country since 2023, had provided scheduling for migrants or asylum seekers through the government-run app CBP One or temporary legal status for up to two years through a parole program for certain countries.

The newly reported memo instructs Ice officials to identify and potentially rapidly deport immigrants who have been in the country for over a year and have not yet applied for asylum, in effect sidestepping traditional immigration court proceedings.

In no waste of time, Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, posted on X on Friday: “Deportation flights have begun,” accompanied by official pictures of people boarding a military-style aircraft.

Despite such flights being routine under successive administrations, the White House is promoting such images strongly and also deployed troops to the border late on Thursday, including US marines arriving in Boeing Osprey aircraft in California.

The developments come as so-called sanctuary cities like Chicago, Newark and Denver are experiencing direct impacts of the administration’s hardline immigration stance. In Newark, Mayor Ras Baraka condemned a small-scale local Ice raid on Thursday that he claimed resulted in the detention of both undocumented residents and citizens – including a US military veteran.

And Denver’s mayor, Mike Johnston, told CNN the city would cooperate with Ice to deport “violent criminals”, but pushed back against arrests in schools and churches.

A DHS spokesperson defended the new policies, writing in a statement that “Criminals will no longer be able to hide in America’s schools and churches to avoid arrest,” and that the administration “trusts law enforcement to use common sense”.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has already challenged the policy in federal court, with the senior staff attorney Anand Balakrishnan characterizing the approach as a “mass deportation agenda” that circumvents constitutional due process.

Stephen Miller, a key architect of Trump’s hardline immigration policies, has been vocal in his opposition to the immigration programs of the last administration, previously criticizing the admission of immigrants from what he termed “failed states”.

Thousands who had received or were waiting for CBP One appointments south of the border were left devastated this week after the app was abruptly shut down moments after Trump was sworn in, while those already in the country using the app and who were preparing to apply for asylum may now be in the line of fire.

Later on Friday, the Trump administration followed up, announcing that it was expanding a fast-track deportation authority nationwide, allowing immigration officers to deport people without appearing before a judge.

The administration said it was expanding the use of “expedited removal” authority so it can be used across the country, in a notice in the Federal Register outlining the new rules.

“Expedited removal” gives enforcement agencies broad authority to deport people without requiring them to appear before an immigration judge. There are limited exceptions, including if they express fear of returning home and pass an initial screening interview for asylum.

Critics have said there is too much risk that people who have the right to be in the country will be mistakenly swept up by agents and officers and that not enough is done to protect immigrants who have genuine reason to fear being sent home.

The powers were created under a 1996 law. But these powers were not widely used until 2004, when homeland security said it would use expedited removal authority for people arrested within two weeks of entering the US by land and caught within 100 miles of the border. That meant it was used mostly against immigrants recently arrived in the country.

In the notice on Friday the administration said the authority could be used across the country and would go into effect immediately.

The notice said the person put into expedited removal “bears the affirmative burden to show to the satisfaction of an immigration officer” that they have the right to be in the US.

Trump’s FCC chair gets to work on punishing TV news stations accused of bias
Chairman Brendan Carr revives bias complaints against CBS, ABC, and NBC stations.

Jon Brodkin – Jan 23, 2025 11:52 AM

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr has revived three complaints against broadcast stations accused of bias against President Donald Trump.

Outgoing Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel last week directed the FCC to dismiss the complaints against CBS, ABC, and NBC stations, along with a fourth complaint about Fox, in what she called a stand for the First Amendment. Rosenworcel said the "threat to the First Amendment has taken on new forms, as the incoming President has called on the Federal Communications Commission to revoke licenses for broadcast television stations because he disagrees with their content and coverage."

But in three orders issued yesterday, the FCC Enforcement Bureau reversed the CBS, ABC, and NBC decisions. "We find that the previous order was issued prematurely based on an insufficient investigatory record for the station-specific conduct at issue," each new order said. "We therefore conclude that this complaint requires further consideration."

The revived complaints target WNBC in New York, WCBS in New York, and 6 ABC in Philadelphia (also known as WPVI-TV). The complaints were filed by the Center for American Rights and supported Trump's claims of bias regarding ABC's fact-checking during a presidential debate, the editing of a CBS 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris, and NBC putting Harris on a Saturday Night Live episode. The complaints against CBS and ABC were made under the FCC's news distortion rules, while the complaint against NBC alleges a violation of the FCC's Equal Time rule.

“We must respect the First Amendment”
Commissioner Anna Gomez, one of two Democrats on the commission, criticized the Carr FCC's decisions. "As I stated last week, we cannot allow our licensing authority to be weaponized to curtail freedom of the press," Gomez said yesterday. "The First Amendment is a pillar of American democracy, and our country needs a press free from interference from regulators like me. In fact, the Communications Act explicitly prohibits the Commission from censoring broadcasters. We must respect the protections of the First Amendment and the restrictions in the Communications Act."

The previous decisions were easy to reverse. There's an FCC rule saying that the agency "may, on its own motion, set aside any action made or taken by it within 30 days from the date of public notice of such action."

Carr has made it clear that he wants the FCC to punish news broadcasters that he perceives as being unfair to Trump or Republicans in general. He claimed that NBC putting Harris on Saturday Night Live before the election was "a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC's Equal Time rule," even though NBC gave Trump two free 60-second messages in order to comply with the rule.

Carr also told Fox News that he is interested in investigating the complaint against CBS when the FCC reviews a pending deal involving Skydance and Paramount, which owns and operates 28 local broadcast TV stations of the CBS Television Network. "I'm pretty confident that news distortion complaint over the CBS 60 Minutes transcript is something that is likely to arise in the context of the FCC's review of that transaction," Carr said.

Carr “intends to weaponize the FCC”
After Rosenworcel dismissed the complaints, the Center for American Rights said it would keep fighting. "We fundamentally believe that several actions taken by the three major networks were partisan, dishonest and designed to support Vice President Harris in her bid to become President," the group said in a statement provided to Ars last week. "We will continue to pursue avenues to ensure the American public is protected from media manipulation of our Republic. The First Amendment does not protect intentional misrepresentation or fraud."

In a statement applauding Carr's reversal today, the group said that Rosenworcel's "last-minute actions were political, not based on a principled defense of the First Amendment."

Networks have denied allegations of bias. "Former President Donald Trump is accusing 60 Minutes of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. That is false," CBS said. "60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response."

Rosenworcel last week also rejected a petition to deny a license renewal for WTXF-TV in Philadelphia, a station owned and operated by Fox. The Media and Democracy Project petition alleged that Fox willfully distorted news with false reports of fraud in the 2020 election that Trump lost.

Rosenworcel said the complaints and petition she dismissed "come from all corners—right and left—but what they have in common is they ask the FCC to penalize broadcast television stations because they dislike station behavior, content, or coverage." Yesterday, advocacy group Public Knowledge said that "in reinstating just those complaints that suit his partisan agenda, Chairman Carr has made it plain he intends to weaponize the FCC to threaten political speech and news coverage he disagrees with."

I'll join you.
During the campaign, I remember Ti posting a TWT thing about a man panning a group of latino women frowning, when listening to Trump. The person posted "this is the look of latino women when they have listened to enough mierda".
Well, I guess they did not listen to enough :poop:
And now I really want all those cubans and all those venezuelans in "MAYAMI" that voted for Trump because he was going to be tough on Maduro and the regime in Cuba to start weeping when their papa's ass gets deported to Guadalcanal.

I am currently in the states. I will be flying back on feb 11th. I am completely legal here, with a proper visa and just on vacation. But I wonder if my visa will be voided upon departure. Which CBP can do on the spot.
