I wonder how many Jews in Germany circa 1930 had this opinion...

It sure was. Hitler started out as a politician and was democratically elected Chancellor in Germany in 1932.

Let's not forget that a mentally compromised Von Hindeburg was pressured into appointing Hitler als Chancellor. The NSDAP didn't get the amount of votes needed to actually come to power directly.

I know I have to fight, but I don't even know HOW to fight anymore. Truth, in this day and age, is arbitrary and selective. I simply don't know how to fight THAT.

The United States is a lost cause. I honestly don't think we will ever get it back.

If that turns out to not be the case, I invite everyone to quote this post accusing me of being an ignorant idiot (don't delete them mods, I will deserve them--and welcome them.)
I can only agree with you. And it's terribly hard to fight against the three classic tactics of divide and rule, control the narrative and deny, deny, deny. Things will have to get far worse before they get better again. I currently don't think I'm going to be around to see that happen.

There's the rub, if the opposition is toothless, what am I voting for?

If politics don't matter, which option do you favor then? Do we go back to Aristocratic ruling? Do we give it a try once more for Kings and Emperors?
Do we try anarchy?
I know it is very much in vogue to always say that "politicians are all the same and are all worthless". Ok, fine. Some truly are. But, if we decide to get rid of politics and therefore of politicians, what new, advanced model do we follow?
And as a citizen of a country that voted itself into dictatorship, I am in the camp that politics matter a lot. A whole lot.

What about Barron Trump? Yes, okay, not yet, but a little further down the line. His dad's admiration for a certain type of leadership is clear, and I think junior is being prepped as we speak to be the next chapter in the "glorious" tale of the Trump dynasty. Am I wrong in thinking that Vance is little more than an interactive ventriloquist dummy?

It wouldn't be that kind of "kingdom". More like USSR or China where sons were never relevant. Vance is a serious factor only does he have the right charisma? Maybe not, but then again did Putin?
