Right. The media hates discovering the next big thing who is mythologically good looking.
One, he's not that good looking especially in a Met Gala context. And two, if you think Stefanos is the next big thing outside of tennis, you think much more of him than I do.

Not taking Met Gala "deadly serious" but a few of us have posted about it on the forum for several years so we do know it well. Stefanos wouldn't register a blip on the radar unless he scores a date that is much, much more famous than he is.
And she shows up in some barely there gown made by some designer on the make. Or Versace.

Any reasons? Can't be age.

She's pregnant--expecting a child in September.

Clarification: She's retiring now, but she's looking to play her last match in Wimbledon 2022

Pregnant yes, but of course age (35) is rather advanced as well. Don't look at Serena, it's still very unusual for women to play at high level longer than that.

I think she would still be highly competitive in doubles. Hope she comes back.

I thought she was way younger. You are right, that is a bit too long on the tour.

I thought she'd already announced her retirement at end of last year...didn't even realize she'd played 2-3 matches. But I checked and that was just her Fed Cup retirement announcement.. and I'd applied it to her playing at all.
