Gee, why can't I warm up to that girl?
Andreeva continues to roll. Adds another "big" win, over Rybakina.
(I am starting to doubt Rybakina will ever be a top player again, if she was one).

Andreeva making moves this year—maybe she’s gotten through her post-junior period and the pieces are starting to come together
She's also the youngest player to make the final here in Dubai.

The future looks bright.
Exactly as we thought, and two weeks exactly as predicted. Ostapenko - Anisimova, Andreeva - Tauson.
We have to start a gambling site.

A relatively easy win, in the end, for Andreeva -drawing away in the straights..was Tauson injured or anything? Didn't see it.
Andreeva maturing faster than anyone expected ..

Tauson was grimacing at the start of set 2 and definitely moving slower, from the highlights video.. certainly looked either tired or injured..too bad, she played well too.

These two last tournaments were very odd. The top players did not even make the finals, and lost to relatively low ranked players.
The year has started in a fun way for me. Maddie winning her maiden slam, and now Andreeva getting into the top ten. A lot of diversity happening.

Quite predictable, actually...the tour calendar causes this mess.ponchi101 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 5:38 pm These two last tournaments were very odd. The top players did not even make the finals, and lost to relatively low ranked players.

Sabalenka, for one, never does well in the ME swing, or in the sunshine double. She wakes up only around Stuttgart/Madrid
She peaks at the AO and then drops off, though the IW/Miami courts should suit her well

Mess? So when new players win tournaments, it is a mess?ashkor87 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2025 1:56 amQuite predictable, actually...the tour calendar causes this mess.ponchi101 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 5:38 pm These two last tournaments were very odd. Ok.
(Joking)
Serious question. So, the tour calendar is to blame. What should be done? Stop play for all of February so Iga and Aryna cac "recover" from the Aussie open?
I know Iga keeps complaining all the time about how much she has to play. But of course, at a very young age, she has already earned more prize money than Steffi or Martina. But what should the other players want? Fewer tournaments? A full month off?
What should be done about the calendar?
