The thing with the WTA is that anyone can beat anyone on any given day. The two top seeds have "easy" draws but ya never know.

The ATP is becoming more like the WTA in this regard though.

No way Ostapenko will reach SF's. R3 max and R1 a possibility.

With her record at RG, very possible. But I only want her to reach far enough until she meets Iga.
(Won't happen, I know).

Paolini has the toughest draw to the semis, and I think Iga will ultimately factor in more than we think at the moment.

Iga gets Sramkova, maybe Raducanu and then maybe Kostyuk. No giants there, but Kostyuk may beat her.
Then whomever survives from a quarter where you have Alona (who may be out by R1) and Rybakina, who is on her way out too.
And then, most probably Paolini or, if not, Svitolina.
In the last years, R4 would have been assured. So now, she has those 4 rounds to get her game back before she has to deal with anything remotely deemed difficult.

You couldn't resist... Congratulations, Jelena, on your second Roland Garros championship! The least you could do in return is cover Suliso's accommodations in Armenia.

Nope. I know Emma likes to hit hard on second serve returns, but her own issues are worse. And she is not as natural on clay as Iga.
Again. If Emma beats her, I will be delighted. But that is not a reasonable expectation.

Well, of course if could happen. And Iga's season has gone so crazy that is way more possible than in 2024.
I am just saying it is not likely. I like Kostyuk's odds way better.

Yay! Sorry to see Belinda out, but very glad for Taylor.
It seems like time is going backwards towards 1984 . . . :freaking:
