Next to retire from a match is Tsitsipas. No idea why just yet.

From what I've read, he simply got outplayed, with Bonzi doing really well on serve. No idea if the temperature was a factor, though. There's bound to be those that handle it better than others.

Indeed. I wonder if the odd strokes are finally catching up with him. By that I mean, the shots are so quirky that any little variation may send them out.
And he did well two weeks ago. Odd indeed (a little).

Yes, i watched the entire match ..this assesment is correct. medvedev didn't play well enough, bonzi did..won a couple of crucial points by exploiting Med's position too far, and Med couldn't pass him when he came to the net.

Txs for that.
Those "receiving form the parking lot" positions are too extreme. I know he is not the only one, and Rafa ran a great career doing it, but you start from too far back. On courts with such a low bounce, it must be tough.

I fear for Alcaraz now...too many unforced errors, and Fognini is a very good player!

He will pull it through. It is Fabio, and by now, he must be satisfied with the price money and the fact that he has played well.
One of the top under achievers in the history of the game. He is folding now.
