Think it's easier to pick losers than winners? We'll see about that.

Here's the place to talk about all things losers. A pick tracker will be posted this evening and updated regularly and scoreboards will be updated at the conclusion of each round.

Just realized there were two Harris players in the draw. I didn't specify which one mine was--it was B. Harris.

As it turns out, it doesn't matter, they both won :(

Please check your picks and let me know if I've taken them down incorrectly.

I've added a scoreboard to the same spreadsheet linked in the pick tracker, even though there is one relevant match (Nakashima vs. Bu) that has not yet finished. The scoreboard assumes that Nakashima wins; if he doesn't, that will adversely affect CyborgShoes, deelighted2, PeterSkan, and myself.

I looked at the scoreboard and wondered: what's happened since I last hosted? Has tennis gotten more even, have we gotten worse at picking losers, or both? Because these scores are possibly the lowest I've ever seen.

Tenedab was our bright spot, scoring 15 for the round. They and GlennHarman were the only two contestants not to lose more than two picks. Glenn and Jeff from TX are tied for second, one point behind tenedab.

On the other end, well, it's a new first! Motobass scored a perfect 0 and has no picks remaining. This has never happened in this contest, or at least not in the last 20 years.

Here's hoping we're able to pick up the pace in the coming rounds.

All 8 of my picks went out (that is, they won) in the first round. Incredible. We (Irena2 and I) have not replaced the ink on our printer and have no draws to work from and so weren't able to follow our normal procedure for this contest. I have too little patience to try to use an online draw. I hope my inability to pick losers will translate to being good at picking winners over in the survivor pools.

We have gotten worse.
Or, my hypothesis holds true: the tours are so even now that picking losers is a 50% chance.
I mean. Picking somebody called PIPINGTON-JONES should have been an automatic 4 points. Yet, he won.

Pinnington'd now entered into the TAT lexicon along with Bonarenko'd! Love it.

No scoreboard today, as we're waiting on Monfils-Fucsovics to finish. Five contestants have a stake in this match, representing a total of 1/10 of the remaining picks.
