There is power outage taking place in either the region or the broadcast facilities.

We currently have no live feeds of any courts.

Sabalenka held, now 5-4. TV shows the third set has already been 67 minutes long. Was there an injury timeout (or maybe it was a heat break before the set). That seems very long, even if that one game was 15 minutes.
Not a single break in continuity. No MTO's. It ended up being 90 minutes.
See Ti's comments. If Aryna could THINK for one point, it would have been a different match.

Rinderknech retired due to the heat. You can see that the courts are scorching.
It is ridiculous. Do not get players on court before 4PM. They just can't handle the heat.

Thanks for this. Tennis Channel didn't give a reason but TennisTV did.

The comms mentioned that there was no wind, no relief from the heat before everything went dark.

No MTOs, but Sabalenka took a 15-20 minute fake bathroom break after the second set.

Just cross-checking the latest power outage data in Ohio.

The most outages are currently reported by Duke Energy, which also covers Warren County, where the tournament is located (Mason).

There are 4 active outages currently reported in the county. (Does not get any more granular than that, though).

Estimated time of restoration is tonight 11pm ET. So we are likely looking at a "wrap for the day" scenario.

We have 11 MLB games on tap tonight if you're still after live sport.

UPDATE: About 5:50pm ET, play has been interrupted on all courts.

We have also found the culprit.

So that really is the day ending. All matches ongoing and still to come will unlikely be televised. I'm frankly even worried about tomorrow as well.

UPDATE 2: We are back in time for the night session. Center Court resumes 6:35pm ET, ending a 2:20 power outage. Other courts are set to gradually resume. Play will begin not before 6:45pm.

But now there is no way the night's doubleheaders on two main courts will finish tonight.

This all happened because Fritz is playing a day match...

A fire alarm is underway in Sinner/Diallo, as a follow-up after an LED screen failure half an hour prior in the same match.

I really love this tournament. /s

Very interested to see the Rybakina-Mertens match..on a fast court, Mertens is very good, can expose Rybakina's poor movement (note the early defeat of powerful but slow people like Anisimova and Pavs .) but Rybakina's serve is a thunderbolt, if she lands it often enough, there is not much anyone can do ..

just saw the highlights of Saba-Raducanu match on Youtube. some very strange shot selection from Raducanu - when she should have punched the ball into the open court, she goes for a drop shot- which Sabalenka reaches and puts away. Roig should focus on this one thing, apart from her serve, which is greatly improved already.. Her returning and movement were always top notch.

True if enforced. But we are way past the deadline and the matches are still going.

That can only mean the curfew has been overridden and 1am finishes will be coming.

UPDATE: Rybakina defeats Mertens at 12:16AM local time. And that is it for the day.
