Luka Dončić Buys Southern California Home From Maria Sharapova for $25 Million
The Los Angeles Lakers star is putting down roots after signing a three-year, $165 million extension with the team

NBA star Luka Dončić has bought retired tennis champion Maria Sharapova’s custom-built Manhattan Beach, California, house, paying $25 million in an off-market deal.

Though the house was never listed on the open market, Sharapova, 38, started shopping it in July, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The sale closed at the end of August, records on PropertyShark show. Dončić bought the home using a trust tied to his brand manager, Lara Beth Seager. She didn’t respond to a request for comment.

There’s an extensive outdoor living space, with a swimming pool, a covered lounge with a fireplace and a dining area, photos show. There’s also multiple balconies, as KAA Design designed the home to have “seamless indoor-outdoor living,” according to the firm.

“This home embodies our belief that beauty and longevity are inseparable—it is as much a sanctuary for living as it is a legacy for the future,” KAA founding principal Grant Kirkpatrick said in a statement.

Susân Perryman of Carolwood Estates represented Sharapova in the deal. She didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Neither Sharapova nor Dončić could be reached for comment.

Dončić, 26, was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers last season and signed a three-year, $165 million extension with the team this offseason, likely prompting him to put down roots in Southern California.

Sharapova built the L.A.-area home in 2015, three years after buying the property for $4.1 million, records show. She commissioned L.A.-based architect KAA Design Group to build the contemporary-style house, which features concrete walls and black metal framing around the windows and glass doors.

The home is nearly 8,000 square feet, with five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, according to records on PropertyShark.
