A deeply insecure unqualified child is in charge of our military because Trump thought he looked like “central casting” when he saw him on Fox, and he knew he is a weak minded fool who will eagerly cater to all Trump’s worst ideas and impulses.

Can we all agree that when a president pardons a guy who was convicted for financing terrorists, and then says he didn't know the guy but "I was told" to pardon him, the follow question MUST be "Who told you to pardon him?" But CBS never asked: who is making decisions in the White House? 1/

Full transcript here. It's not just that Norah O'Donnell didn't fact check Trump. It's that she didn't use the interview to push for new information. And what's an interview for, if not that? 2/

when will people get it? When told about his sinking polls, and his party trailing the Dems, Trump apparently said I dont care, I am sitting in the beautiful Oval office.. how much more clearly can he say that he cares only about himself? The party can go to hell..

Given what has happened at CBS in recent months, it's safe to say CBS is no longer a legitimate, reputable news source. This is a prime example of the kinds of shifts we can expect from them under their new leadership.

In other news, and I am intentionally not putting it in the In Memoriam thread, the NY Times is reporting former US vice president Dick Cheney has died. He was 84.

The NY times is also reporting. democrat Mikie Sherrill has won governor of New Jersey. These were both expected wins. I'm anxious to see the final margins of victory.

A friend of mine just texted that Mamdani won NY Mayor. I can't confirm that yet. Too many other things going on.

I'm waiting on the PA supreme court retention race. That'll be the best barometer of what the swingiest of all swing states is thinking of all this.

BREAKING: Maine voters reject a sweeping Republican-backed anti-voting ballot measure that would have created a new photo ID requirement for voting, eliminated programs that expanded access to absentee ballots, ended the state’s permanent absentee voter list and more. Story to come.

All three democrats on the PA supreme court have won their retention elections, so that's excellent news. Had they not won their individual retention votes, Gov. Josh Shapiro would have been able to appoint three new judges to replace them. But he would have had to try to get them through a Republican-controlled state senate, which would not have happened. Good news indeed.

Have Republicans won anything of substance tonight?
