Apparently this man has always been a jerk. His agent must be on his second bottle of bourbon, skiing or something by now. Nothing ever goes away in the digital age.

He has most definitely not always been a jerk. He is torching his reputation, which over the last several seasons has been stellar, that of an activist against domestic violence since his mother was a victim and was severely attacked and now blind as a result of an indirect attack related to that abuse. This is an epic mess for sure, second bottle of bourbon was likely polished off by his agent by early evening.

His public profile has changed and that speaks to good sports management. The incident when he was still in college screams "jerk" to me. His agent worked very hard to get him a positive image and here we are.

As for his agent, yeah, at least.

Sure, but that was never a real story. They like to report the salacious not when things get cleared up. DeAndre did not fall in the Draft, in fact he went higher than people thought he would. NFL looked into this like they do everything else, but this was at their Combine, not exactly hard for them to investigate and come to a conclusion and DeAndre didn't fall. And far less disturbing character concerns have caused players to drop in the draft. He would've dropped out of the 1st round for sure, especially as a wide receiver. He was never seen the way that tweet makes it seem. Seen as a quiet but confident hard worker with very unfortunate family circumstances who was able to overcome and persevere. That's been his story for his career, and that includes when he was at Clemson. He didn't need to craft a positive image, he already had one. You're giving his agent credit for what his mother really did in raising him.

I stand corrected

Training camps have started across the league. A lot of positive tests coming in, including Lamar Jackson who tested positive in the fall as well. Colts seem like they may have the most thus far (including their head coach), which isn't surprising, they're among the least vaccinated teams so more chances for the virus to circulate.
