Re: Talk about the NFL
If they had called the play in the first half correctly, seems pretty darn likely that would've been a Browns win. I'm sure they'll be talking about it on Sports Radio most of the week. It was an egregious no call.
Hopefully the result is a change in the rules. Even if they don't make that kind of review possible for just the penalty, what they should do at the very least is to replay the down and not reward the team that you can see committing a penalty on the replay to get a benefit like that. Not a knee jerk change in the rules, this has happened several times significantly in the last few weeks and it's terrible every time how they reward the team committing a clear foul but can't do anything about it under the rules.

Agree. I don't understand why you can review penalties. They can affect the game as much as anything else.

Mahomes had no idea where he was or what his name is. Nance was 100% correct and Romo didn't say anything after that comment. I can't see him playing next week.

3 turnovers. Four. 21 points.
Sure. That works.

Re: Talk about the NFL
The campaign to pretend that Patrick Mahomes concussion is no biggie and he'll be good to go next week has already begun. It began on FOX the moment the game was over with whatever nonsense Jay Glazer was saying to explain how it wasn't really a concussion that made him dizzy.

Re: Talk about the NFL
You have to admit that Bills/Chiefs without Mahones is a completely different game. Whatever spread the Chiefs will get will be reverted if Mahones does not play. Which will mean, fewer people watching.

Re: Talk about the NFL
NFL is completely full of ish (which we know they are) if ratings are the point and player safety isn't. You can't have a decade of "player safety is the most important thing" campaign and then skirt the rules because, oh well, we didn't really mean that when it came to our star quarterbacks in the playoffs. It doesn't matter how many less people will watch if Patrick doesn't play, it matters if he should play and the way they are talking right now, they aren't seriously going to evaluate him on much else besides wanting the Chiefs to win and advance.
Patrick is not taking this seriously, which means the Chiefs aren't taking it seriously because they just intend to clear him. That man is using his phone right after his concussion. WTH?!? This might seem cute and all right now, but not so much in 20 years when he's struggling with speech and can't help his kids with elementary level schoolwork. That tough it out BS isn't working out so great for Brett Favre these days.

How quickly they've swept Junior Seau and even Aaron Hernandez under the rug.

Re: Talk about the NFL
In case I was misconstrued: I agree with you both. The NFL cares more about ratings than anything else.
So, they will clear him. Consequences 10 years from now be damned.

Re: Talk about the NFL
Eagles are hiring no-name white coach that hasn't been calling offensive plays, so there go another excuse off the board for not hiring Eric Bieniemy. I'm sure they'll drum up another new excuse by morning, and as is the case with almost every excuse, there's probably been a coach hired in recent years to show that excuse is just BS cover.
Same ish, different day.

Re: Talk about the NFL
Specially in view that one major issue for the Eagles next year will be either developing Hurts or whomever is the new QB.
Not only the obvious connotations. It is a dumb move, football wise.

I really hope the Texans hire Bienemy. He's been wrongfully passed over so many times.

Re: Talk about the NFL
Texans were the only team that didn't request an interview with Bieniemy. Deshaun spoke up about this ridiculousness publicly after he'd already made it known that he respected him and wanted him seriously considered for the job. And then the rest of the Texans stuff came out. And then the Texans requested the interview. This is seeming very much like them trying to save face because their players, not just Deshaun, and their fans, were outraged when it became known they hadn't even requested an interview. Texans players have been strongly advocating for him as the next coach.
If' I'm Eric, I think twice about taking this position in the current situation if it's offered. A front office that never wanted you suddenly hiring you to basically try to save your franchise QB from forcing a trade is a dicey situation. I'd absolutely talk to Deshaun first to see if he's open to staying if he comes on board.
