I figured it was an event, but didn't what event it might be & the backdrop was very generic bridal flower show, so I wasn't sure.

I came across this photo today, and figured I'd put it up here - if only for the hell of it.
From around 1977-79, I figure.
Some of us know very easily who they are - for those who might not know, someone will come along and tell you if you ask...

JMac, Vilas, Borg. Not sure of one man, the one between JMac and Vilas. Gerulaitus? Edberg?

BTW. That shot must have been '78, because they are on a hard court and the US summer circuit, including the USO, in 77 was full har-tru. Maybe it was USO, since it is a hard court and not all tournaments switched to hard courts that quickly.
Wild guess.

Isn't it from a Davis Cup tie - the jacket says United States Davis Cup Team.

KiKi Bertens looks to be enjoying retirement. And she introduced a new family member. He's a cutie.

No... back then, some players often wore their Davis Cup jackets at regular tournaments. A year or two after this photo was taken, McEnroe began regularly wearing an identical Tacchini Davis Cup jacket to the one Gerulaitis is wearing in the photo.
Also, you have 3 different countries represented in the photo - U.S.A, Argentina, and Sweden.

Back then, being called for DC was a huge honor. If you were part of the team, wearing that jacket even when it was not DC was a badge.

Now a days players wouldn't be allowed to wear it because it wouldn't have their sponsors on it.

^ That's why they're referred to as being 'the good ol' days' - before sponsors, etc. totally controlled what players can do, etc.
While it wasn't perfect, there was considerably more freedom back then.
