of course I immediately did some sleuthing. He and his ex-wife announced their divorce or separation (not sure if it's final) a few months before he joined Garbi in Chicago in late September for the tournament.

The Chinese money era on WTA is over probably for good. I wonder what happens with ATP. Also it's possible that CTA will pull Chinese players out of WTA. Making no response or giving in would mean losing face, wouldn't it?
