Has this been mentioned anywhere?

Former Top 20 tennis player given 4-year doping suspension

Former Top 20 player Varvara Lepchenko was given a four-year doping suspension on Friday by the International Tennis Federation after she tested positive for a banned stimulant during a tournament last year.

Her lawyer, Howard Jacobs, wrote in an email to The Associated Press that Lepchenko intends to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

My first thought was, "Lepchenko is still playing?" Looked it up and she's 35 and ranked 135, which isn't terrible. High enough to still have a pro career in ITF events and WTA qualifying/occasional main draws - but if she is suspended for 4 years, she's done. She was ranked #19 10 years ago.

Curiously, she lost to Mirren in the last round of qualifying at two Slams last year. Also, a reality check on the money: She won an ITF tournament last year and made $4,000. She qualified for the French Open and lost in R2 and made $100,000. Women make their money at the Slams and 1000s, and play the other stuff to be able to enter the Slams and 1000s.

Andy Murray has pledged his prize money for the rest of the season to help children in Ukraine. Can this guy not get any more likeable (i kind of feel guilty for not liking watching him play)

I don't think I came around more on any other player once I saw them off court than Murray.

Ajla has removed all references to Matteo on her IG account, including those from the Met Gala. In today's world that usually means a couple have split.

Set your timers, or should we start a pool about who finds a new partner sooner?
Like, before the end of IW? Or in between IW and Miami?

Well, she was not wearing NB at the Aussie, so that was a given. The tweet is from Jan 19th, also. ;)

Ah, thanks. I noticed that Twitter was putting mid-January tweets high up on my timeline and it was so confusing. Didn't notice this one was mid-January, so it's totally moot. It did remind me about Danielle's clothing situation, though. Still no deal, I guess. Nothing announced on social. She hasn't finished a match since the AO. Only played once and retired with dizziness. Pulled out of IW with an injury. We'll see about Miami.

If you're using a mobile device, leave Twitter and come back the default is home which is always out of sync with old tweets at the top. Some are already complaining about it.
