Pedicure was my first thought when I saw this.JazzNU wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 6:24 pm I'm not a big fan of the slipper shoe trend, but I can't be mad at it either. Try an Ugg slipper and see how heavenly it feels on your foot.
Also, I have no idea what she was doing that night. I'm all for this shoe if it's post pedicure, they are perfect for that.

Johanna Konta in Melbourne. Looking like the injury she sustained in her match wasn't as bad as she was first talking about it being.

I really don't care for Naomi's kit this time around. But I also thought it was some kind of lace overlay pattern and she posted photos recently and I thought the closer look was helpful. Don't like it any more, actually might like it even less, but I also know they weren't trying for lace.

I also don't like it too much, but what is it? Camouflage diver?

I have no idea. But if I had to guess, some abstract design inspired by the area, drawing on the ocean and the Great Barrier Reef. Many of these designs for the Aussie Open tend to be symbolic in some way of the tournament, but in the past at least, that doesn't necessarily mean Melbourne, but Australia as a whole.

I don't recall ever watching one of her matches, being limited to the miraculous ESPN broadcast of a women's match.
Wish her well.

I don't think I ever saw her on TV either, but I did catch quals in Cincy in 2014 (Gibbs d. Schiavone):

Re: Tennis Players Random, Random 2.0
^ That's about the most eloquently written retirement announcement I've ever seen.
I got to know Nicole and her mom somewhat about 12-13 years ago during a couple of Junior tournaments. Nice people. I didn't keep in touch with them - but I wish I had.
Nicole has evolved from a talented yet stubborn 15 year old kid to an extremely intelligent and well spoken woman. She's been through some difficult times in her life - including cancer... and I'm not at all surprised that she has come through those experiences better than ever.
She has much to be proud of, and I have no doubt that she'll excel in anything she chooses to do.
A couple of photos I found from back then...
