Yeah, I'm starting to think C4C is actually just C herself. :) If she hadn't been posting while Gauff was on court today, I'd be asking if we have ever seen them in the same place at the same time.
Think C4C had tennis practice today.

Swiatek is a copy of Henin. In ability not character mind you! Luckily for her in a far weaker era so she might win more than Justine did.

Martic through. She's had a horrible year, but her game suits this surface.

Rybakina, playing to her potential for the first time all year, will be her next opponent. I like Rybakina in that one, but it should be entertaining.

Suliso wrote: Sat Jul 02, 2022 4:34 pm Indeed some regrouping will be necessary. Her next tournament is only clay in Warsaw. That should help and then off to the hard courts in US. Let's see how well she can do on a faster version of hard courts. Should be better than grass definitely.

The win streak stops at 37. Tied with Hingis for best by anyone not named Navratilova, Graf or Evert OR COURT.
I know she is unmentionable, but she hit a 57 streak once.

I think Swiatek takes the ball a lot earlier, right? She plays into the court at her best, almost leans into the court. She's more imposing, more physical.

Henin was very good coming forward. Swiatek not so much.

Coco's going to be more disappointed now that Iga is out. Her draw could have opened up.

Yes, but Swiatek at 21 should not be at her peak yet. We'll see. Depends who else comes up in the next 3-5 years.

Her game has serious technical flaws. Definitely more than Iga's. Need to work on those.

Expand, please. I agree they both are very strong mentally (Henin with her coaching crutch), but their styles are remarkably different.
About this being a weak era: it is an era of parity. I still don't know if it is weak (lots of players at about the same level).

Styles are different, but I meant similar physique (slight built, average height) and coming from clay background. Could be formidable elsewhere, but nowhere close to what they are on clay. If this was on clay Cornet woild have lost in straight.

How about Badosa? We are not even mentioning her, yet, she is the second highest seed left. Could she sneak into a title?
