Re: Talk about the NFL
Of the options being considered I really hope they don't choose the "add an 8th team" one

Re: Talk about the NFL
Game cancelled and any games that wind up possibly affected wind up at Neutral site (ie KC/Buf/Cin games if the right teams win/lose)
https://www.nfl.com/news/proposed-afc-p ... ed-to-know
Cincinnati have now clinched AFC North and also can't finish #1. But if Baltimore beat them there will be a coin toss to see who is host IF they play next week.

Re: Talk about the NFL
The interesting thing now is: which stadia will be considered as neutral sites?

Knowing the NFL, somewhere warm.
Should give it to cities like Cleveland that haven't hosted a playoff game in ages

Cincy-Bal in CLE. Not neutral; both teams are hated there
Or imagine Buffalo playing in Miami; there is no way a Miami crowd will root for them.

Re: Talk about the NFL
As long as Cincy and Baltimore are both equally hated it should be ok.
Tough call, but I bet Baltimore would probably be more hated there.
I'd probably put them in NFC cities to be honest. Probably ex super bowl host cities like Glendale, New Orleans, Atlanta, etc.

Re: Talk about the NFL
Fun game in Jacksonville as a defensive touchdown with under three to go gets Jacksonville into the playoffs, despite starting 4-8.
Now, can one more 4-8 team sneak in

The article I read said was going to be domes.
Indy was asked but declined.
Supposedly Detroit and Atlanta were also in the mix

Re: Talk about the NFL
That was a fun game: Jags/Tenn. Very close.
I say the Jags will now have a good chance if they play the Ravens SANS Lamar, but the Chargers are too loaded. Too many weapons in that team.

Re: Talk about the NFL
Found it pretty interesting the Packers let Brett Favre play the second half last night!
My daughter is savage, I woke her up for school this AM and very first words were "I bet Green Bay lost because they are terrible." I couldn't deny it.

Re: Talk about the NFL
They are not terrible.
But I wonder if Rodgers is any longer a top QB in the league.
BTW. Mr. "I-am-immunized", Mr. "I spent the summer doing ayahuasca" had a nice display after the game. Walking back to the locker room, a cameraman was filming and Rodgers moved him aside and clearly said "get the (expletive) out of my face".
I really wonder why he is so adored.

Re: Talk about the NFL
He's definitely not as adored as he was a few years ago (even by Packers fans like me). And that was mostly for football exploits.
He wasn't a top tier QB this year. He didn't have any 300 yard games, and perhaps more importantly, didn't have any of his usual end of game heroic drives like he used to. A couple of years ago when they got the ball back with 5 minutes left like last night, I would have been fairly confident we'd still win. Last night once Detroit took lead I knew it was likely over and we couldn't come back. What was really odd was in the second half he was going full Gun Slinger Favre mode - it looked like he was getting desperate to pull something off. He had a great long completion to Watson, but also two (and would have been three if not for a penalty) what was he thinking interceptions where he just chucked the ball and it got picked. Very Un-Rodgers like.
I'm not sure if I count him out yet... or if I'm convinced Love is going to be anything special. But I'm very nervous about next season either way. I probably sound spoiled to fans of non Tom Brady teams, but it really feels like we should have gotten more than one Super Bowl win out of this great run.

Re: Talk about the NFL
The media has always adored him more than the fans have (outside of GB). Fans have respected his talent, but they haven't adored him greatly like a Peyton Manning, for instance. Not even remotely close. And that was before the immunized BS.ponchi101 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 09, 2023 4:34 pm They are not terrible.

And GB has been plenty terrible this year similar to what they showed last night. Rounding into a somewhat better team doesn't erase how terrible they've been at points in this year. And their resurgence at the end of the season came off wins against the Bears, Rams, and a concussed Tua. Media was happy to push the narrative of the Rodgers dream run because they are always up for that.
