I have a hard time imagining him being a man would matter if Agassi's dad was acting the way Mary Pierce's dad was in the stands.
I see what you're saying. I think the dad would have gotten the same attention but Agassi wouldn't have been regarded as a victim to the same extent. We quickly infantilize women but not men.

I think Tomic is regarded as severely damaged although it's not covered the way that women players would be.

For sure!!

But the 'burn out/coulda been' list is much lengthier for the women's tour than the men's.

I think that's why Shapo coming out and saying that he needs to play less for his mental health is important.

I missed that he said that. I hope the comments were directed at his mother more than anyone else.

^ That's likely largely because female tennis players have historically entered the tour at a younger age than males.

Don’t know if it’s because I can’t stand watching her play, but I never knew she was that beautiful!

Lorenzo Musetti got the cover of Italian Esquire back in November. Guess they are more than ready to make him a star.

The internet and social media can be used for good, or bad, or idiocy. This clearly belongs in the last category. :(
